As the Chicago summer heats up, cool down with a frosty wine-based cocktail at Humboldt Park’s 7th annual Sangria Festival. The festival is returning to the sprawling lawn along Division Street on August 20th and 21st with some of the Windy City’s best mixologists on hand pouring bottomless glasses of their signature sangrias.Interested in sampling some of them? Snag your ticket ASAP ($15+) and bring along a blanket or lawn chairs so you can comfortably set up shop for the day on the vibrant green lawn. Then grab your first glass of fruity sangria and a bite to eat from one of the many local food vendors on hand. They’re dishing out a variety of Latin American and Spanish noshes, including paella, empanadas, ceviche, and much more. Head to the Food Court for a culinary “Tour of Latin America” before settling in for some live music. Feel free to return for as many glasses of sangria as you can responsibly handle over the course of the day, enjoying live flamenco and samba dancing along the way. If you feel like getting creative, grab a seat at the Paint and Sip Sangria Lounge (for an additional $25), hosted by Studio30.
