Summer is finally here, and we at Spoke couldn’t be more excited! The warmer months signify the start of outdoor fun in Chicago, and whether you love sports, nature, or just soaking up the sun, there's something for everyone in the Windy City.
There are plenty of scenic spots to explore in the city, such as Millennium Park. Famous for the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, also known as “The Bean”, Millennium Park is the perfect place to see beautiful gardens that bloom every spring and summer, or sit and have lunch while people-watching. There’s also a concert pavilion for outdoor shows, so keep an eye out for possible artists coming to perform.
Lakefront Trail is another excellent option to walk or bike on, as there are several bike rental services in the area in case you don’t have your own. We also highly recommend strolling along Navy Pier, where you can see the stunning views of Lake Michigan, ride the Ferris wheel, or take a boat tour of the city. There’s a reason tourists from around the world come to Navy Pier, and there’s no better time than now to experience everything it has to offer.
If you’re seeking classic, quintessential summer fun, attend a Cubs or White Sox Game, or explore the Lincoln Park Zoo. Perfect for a date or with little ones, Chicago has plenty of family-friendly activities anyone can enjoy.
Chicago is also home to several beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan, including North Avenue Beach and Oak Street Beach. Swim, sunbathe, or play volleyball along the shore. Our beaches are one of the best aspects of life in Chicago - the ability to hit the beach in a big city.
Chicago is a lively city year-round, but we especially love the warm summer months that promise endless outdoor activities and fun. We hope you have a wonderful start to your summer and take advantage of everything the Windy City has to offer!
